Every booking link and availability widget here goes to GetYourGuide, a licensed online travel agency. They handle the payment, the confirmation and the cancellation. I never see your card details and I cannot access your booking. The commission comes out of their margin, not out of your fare.

Whether it changes what I recommend

No, and the pages are the evidence. The most expensive tour on this site is the one I am hardest on, because you are paying for transfers rather than a better boat. The cheapest product on the river is not the traditional boat ride at all, and I say so at the top of its review rather than at the bottom. Where a tour is too new to judge, I say that instead of dressing it up. Ranking things honestly is the only reason anyone would come back.

I am also not the boat operator and not the official Hozugawa Kudari site. I compare the tours that include the ride. If you would rather buy the pier ticket directly and skip me entirely, that route is written up on tickets and booking ahead.
